SWIMMING LESSONS kick into high gear in July!

Each summer, as funds are available, we put children and youth in swimming programs. Sadly, each year we read about or hear of young people drowning in local rivers, canals and reservoirs; at Healing Nations we are working to be proactive in preventing these tragedies. We have found that in addition to children not knowing how to swim, there are also a number of older youth that need to learn to swim. These swimming and water safety lessons are protecting lives and perhaps even saving lives. Swimming is also a fun, healthy sport that builds self confidence and it gives kids something positive to do with their time on those hot summer days here in the valley.

We are only able to furnish swimming lessons when we have funds available. We depend on our partners like you for the financing of this program. Your prayers and gifts towards this ministry are deeply appreciated!

By the end of the first session of lessons the children have become very comfortable with the water. Most of the students are able to jump off the deep end of the pool and swim safely to the side and even the full length of the pool!
Besides the lesson each of the children are given a snack and have some special time with a caring adult mentor. It is a safe, loving environment for the children that they do not always have in other settings in their lives. The children also have an opportunity to make new friends.
